Quadrantids Meteor Shower 2017

The Quadrantids meteor shower will peak for a few hours during the night of 3rd and 4th of January 2017 and under perfect conditions can produce up to 120 meteors per hour. The shower is associated with asteroid2003 EH1 which takes about 5.5 years to orbit around the Sun.

Although named after a now defunct constellation, Quadran Muralis, the Quadrantids radiate from the handle of the Plough but you can see meteors coming from any direction in the sky, so get outside and look up!
