BBC Stargazing Live 2014

Once again the BBC will be holding their Stargazing Live event both on TV and at live locations around the country. The TV programmes start tonight, Tuesday 7th January 2014 at 8pm on BBC2, and will feature the usual presenters, Prof Brian Cox and Dara O’Brein. In conjunction with the BBC the Norman Lockyer Observatory will be holding a Stargazing Live event at the observatory on Thursday 9th January which is open to the general public, Tickets are £6.00 for adults and £3.00 Students/ Children and the event will feature talks, planetarium shows, radar meteor detecting, space weather today from our VLF receiver, historic telescope tours with viewing if clear. Many members will also have personal telescopes set up and visitors will have an opportunity to see what we do and view deep sky objects.
